USING A WIX WEBSITE AS A SPLASH PAGE.
HERE'S HOW TO ACCEPT THE TRANSFER.
Your inviter has transferred you a copy of the free, generic WIX website.
Before accepting the transfer - go to wix.com and create an account
using the same email the transfer request showed up in.
Then go back to that email and accept the transfer.
The generic website will load in your WIX account's dashboard.
HERE'S HOW TO SET UP YOUR WEBSITE:
The first thing you want to do, before anything else,
is make a copy of the generic website you just received.
It will be that copy that you'll be using to send a generic version to your receiving lines.
Here's how to do it.
Go to the dashboard of your Wix website.
The page should still be open on your browser & most likely says Setup | Wix.com
Once at the DASHBOARD - click the 3 dots beside the DESIGN SITE button.
That button will say EDIT SITE next time you open your dashboard.
Click DUPLICATE SITE - then click DUPLICATE - you just made a copy of your site.
Still in the DASHBOARD go to the pull down menu on the top left of the page
above the QUICK ACTIONS button - you'll see a copy of your website has been added.
Now, when you log in to Wix, you'll see 2 websites available.
Simply click the one you want to open and it'll open into a dashboard.
Don't do it now - later you can CLICK HERE to learn how to transfer a site.
For now, let's get to work on your website.
Click the Publish button which is the bright blue button to your right.
A pop-up will appear - click view site. Your site will open. Check it out.
You'll see your current Wix website address and the look of your free site.
GO back to your WIX editor - left click on YOUR PIC HERE
Click CHANGE IMAGE - your website files will open.
Click blue button to your left that says UPLOAD MEDIA.
On the pop-up click upload from computer.
Upload a pic of yourself - once uploaded - hilite it and click the CHOOSE IMAGE button.
You should now see your smiling face on your LIVEGOOD page.
Now, to enter your name under your pic - click the text box where your name belongs.
A menu should pop-up.
Click Edit Text - Enter your name - Close the box.
Now you should see your smiling face and your name underneath it.
Just 1 more thing to do.
Scroll down to the HOPE Bar.
Left click on the bar. - Click the paper clip icon.
Here is where we attach your LIVEGOOD TOUR page.
To find that page - go to the LIVEGOOD back office.
On the left hand side - click the My Websites link.
Copy the Powerline Landing Page link.
It should be the 2nd link you come across & the only one with the word TOUR in it.
Return to the Wix.com Editor.
Click the web address box and paste that URL into the appropriate box.
Make sure New Window is chosen.
Click Done.
Now, when someone clicks the The HOPE bar
they'll be taken to your LIVEGOOD TOUR page in a new browser window..
Okay, time to check out your website to make sure it is setup properly.
Click publish - then on the pop-up - view site.
Make sure everything is to your liking - tweak it if necessary.
Once everything is good - grab your phone - check out the mobile version.
It should be good - but if not - go back to the home page on your Wix editor.
At the top of the page - under the Dev Mode title - you'll see the desktop icon and the mobile icon.
Click the mobile icon and tweak accordingly.
Very easy to use. If you change something but want to change it back
there is an undo button to the left of the 100% title at the top of the page.
When you're happy with everything - get excited because you are now open for business.
